For approximately 25 years, Prof. Uwe Wolfrum from the Institute at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz has been researching Usher syndrome. In collaboration with Prof. Reinhard L\u00fchrmann from the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in G\u00f6ttingen, he discovered a new pathomechanism that leads to this disease.
