Developing technology and saving lives – a look into Fenja’s everyday student life and what fascinates her

The new 04/05 2026 issue of think ING. kompakt is dedicated to the exciting field of medical technology. It features Fenja Hanneken, a student at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HAWK) and a student assistant at the Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Optogenetic Therapies (EKFZ OT) at the University Medical Center Göttingen. There, she is currently working on quality management and the certification of medical devices. The EKFZ OT has set itself the goal of making the innovative methodology of optogenetics available for clinical applications.
